Additional Admission Requirements
A National Senior Certificate (NSC) or equivalent qualification is required for admission. Applicants in the possession of the National Certificate Vocational (NCV) will be selected according to the selection requirements as approved by Senate. A candidate for the Higher Certificate in Retail Management must score at least 27 or more points on the CUT scoring scale based on the National Senior Certificate (NSC) (Grade 12) examination. A student must obtain a score of at least 4 (50%) in English. Prospective students working in the retail sector could alternatively use the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) route for admission to the learning programme.
PREREQUISITES
PIM5011 and PIM5012 contain the same content. Students who successfully complete PIM5011 and achieve the required pass rate do not have to register for PIM5012. Students who do not achieve the required pass rate in PIM5011 must register for PIM5012 in order to complete the Personal Information Management requirement. |

Graduates of the Higher Certificate in Retail Management may pursue a variety of career opportunities in the retail and related sectors, including positions as Retail Managers, Retail Supervisors, Sales Assistants, Sales Representatives, Store Persons, General Clerks, Checkout Operators, Shelf Fillers, Office Cashiers, Service Station Attendants, Retail Buyers, Automotive Parts Salespersons, Forklift Drivers, Butchers and Confectionery Bakers. |

After successful completion of this qualification, the Higher Certificate in Retail Management will be awarded during an official graduation ceremony at CUT.
