Born from the School of Entrepreneurship and Business Development in 2013, the Department of Business Support Studies is dedicated to providing high-quality, practice-orientated management education. We combine academic rigour with professional relevance to prepare our students for dynamic careers in business, administration, and project management.

Admission Pathways & Research Focus
Undergraduate Admissions
The Diploma in Management and the Diploma in Office Management and Technology are primarily intended for first-time entering students (matriculants of the previous year).
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL): We proudly offer RPL across all our qualifications, providing alternative access routes for experienced professionals and non-traditional students.
Research Degrees (Master's & Doctoral)
Our postgraduate research programmes are strictly research-based, equipping students with advanced analytical skills for complex problem-solving in management and business.
Admission Criteria: Contingent upon academic credentials, the ability to identify a relevant research problem, the capacity to devise a convincing research proposal, and the availability of an appropriate research supervisor.

Highly Qualified Academics
Through full-time and part-time appointments, we engage well-qualified academics. All lecturers at the Advanced Diploma and Postgraduate Diploma levels hold a relevant Master's degree at a minimum, while all main supervisors for Master's research hold doctorate qualifications.
Professional Body Alignment
Several staff members are registered members of leading professional bodies in their fields of specialisation. Concurrently, active steps are being taken to secure formal accreditation for select departmental programmes by the relevant professional councils.
