The Academic Advising Program is here to guide you through your university journey, from applying to our institution to finding your unique path to success. Student Academic Development and Support Unit appoints Peer Advisors across the four faculties in both campuses to assist with achieving this goal.
What do Peer Advisors do?
Peer Advisors are fellow students who have been where you are. They understand the challenges of adapting to university life and are here to help you maximise your CUT experience.
Here’s how they can assist:
- Academic Registration Support: We help you with registrations in the beginning of the semester.
- Guidance and Mentorship: Not sure what steps to take next? We're here to answer your questions, whether it's about changing courses, managing time, or adjusting to university life.
- Campus Navigation: Lost on campus? We can guide you to the right departments, whether you need assistance from Financial Aid, Library Services, or the IT Department.
- Weekly Peer-to-Peer Sessions: Stay on track with regular meetings facilitated by your own peer advisor, that offer ongoing advice and support throughout the semester.
- Study Tips and Strategies: Struggling with study techniques? We provide helpful tips to improve your academic performance.
We have a designated space on both campuses (The Academic Advising Hub) to ensure we provide effective and necessary support to our students.
Why visit the Academic Advising Hub?
- Personalised Guidance: Tailored advice for your specific academic journey.
- Stress-Free Environment: Friendly and approachable advisors, who understand the pressures of student life.
- Resources and Tools: Access to materials that can help improve your study habits, time management, and academic performance.
Relax for a moment in a safe and supportive space
The Academic Advising Hub isn't just about serious stuff – it's a supportive, safe and friendly space where you can relax and chat about your university experience. We’re here to make sure you feel welcomed and empowered to succeed.
