Career Opportunities

Graduates holding this qualification are trained at an advanced academic level to assume leadership positions in research, teaching, business, and government or proceed to the PhD level. The MPhil provides a seamless articulation upwards into the cognate PhD (Management Sciences) specialisation.

The MPhil in Management Sciences is a research-based qualification. CUT-EDU students can specialise in:

  • Entrepreneurship,
  • Small Enterprise Management,
  • Agricultural Business Management,
  • Fashion Business Management, or
  • Finance.

The purpose of the research only MPhil Management Sciences is to equip learners with the knowledge required to produce a full dissertation in a prescribed format, on a specialist topic, in Entrepreneurship, Small Enterprise Management, Agri-Business Management, Fashion Business Management, or Finance. Possession of the MPhil Management Sciences qualification signifies that the candidate has completed a research training and development course in the specialised field and has satisfied the examiners that they can carry out an independent research project and critically analyse the results.

To achieve these outcomes, students are guided to:

  • Develop focused competence in the chosen research topic.
  • Choose and apply appropriate research methodologies and written communication skills to support the research process and findings.
  • Develop the ability to reflect on research outcomes and results critically.
  • Conduct their research within an ethical framework.

Acquire research knowledge and skills necessary for employment in a related field (including teaching and research positions) and further independent research at the PhD level.
