  • Entrepreneurship,
  • Engineering Business Management,
  • Agri-Business Management,
  • Fashion Business Management, or
  • Finance.

The program requires a candidate to undertake research at the most advanced academic levels culminating in the submission, assessment and acceptance of a thesis that can contribute to the development of new knowledge at an advanced level in Entrepreneurship, Engineering Business Management Agri-Business Management, Fashion Business Management, or Finance.

The qualification attests that the learner has produced a Doctoral research thesis, which meets international standards of scholarly and professional writing under supervision in the chosen specialisation. The defining characteristic of this qualification is that the candidate must demonstrate high-level research capability and make a significant and original academic contribution at the frontiers of the area of specialisation. The work must be of a quality to satisfy peer review and merit publication.

Unlike taught courses, this degree places greater emphasis on research and an original contribution to knowledge. The student will attend seminars in the first year to develop advanced research skills for gathering, analysing and presenting quantitative and qualitative data. This approach allows students to undertake a rigorous and critical exploration of one or more specialisation areas with support from expert supervisor(s).
