CUT welcomes Dr Thabane Vincent Maphai as the new Chancellor

CUT’s newly appointed CUT Chancellor, Dr. Thabane Vincent Maphai.

The Central University of Technology, Free State (CUT) Council approved the nomination of Dr Thabane Vincent Maphai to be appointed as the new Chancellor, following the end of term of the previous Chancellor Madam Justice Mahube Molemela in December 2023.

The Vice-Chancellor and Principal, Prof. Pamela Dube, and the executive management welcomed him on his short visit to the university today.

In his new role as the Chancellor, Dr Maphai is the ceremonial head of the University and will preside over ceremonies including graduations. CUT is looking forward to the valuable contribution and leadership that he will bring to the institution. 

Dr Maphai was welcomed by the Vice-Chancellor and Principal, Professor Pamela Dube (3rd from left), and the Executive Management.
