CUT Hosts Its Inaugural International Teaching Week 2025
For the first time, the Central University of Technology (CUT) is hosting the International Teaching Week, a pioneering initiative that positions CUT as the only university of technology participating in this global knowledge-sharing platform. Under the theme “Bridging Worlds: Exploring the Intersections of the Humanities, Technology, and Social Entrepreneurship,” the event brings together academics, industry experts, policymakers, and students to explore innovative entrepreneurial practices, with a special focus on adaptive and sustainable business models emerging from the Global South.
The International Teaching Week is envisioned to enhance international collaboration and knowledge exchange, empower students with entrepreneurial skills and mindset, showcase entrepreneurial innovations from the Global South, establish long-term networks for entrepreneurial development, promote sustainable and digitally driven business practices, influence policy development in entrepreneurship education and strengthen CUT’s role as a hub for innovation and research-driven solutions.
In her remarks, Dr Mantoa Molete, Lecturer: Communications Science said “by fostering dialogue across cultures, sharing knowledge, and leveraging technology in business, this event aims to build strong, lasting connections that support sustainable business environments. At the same time, it will stimulate economic growth, drive innovation, and inform effective policy development. This milestone event reflects our unwavering commitment to academic excellence, forward-thinking innovation, and meaningful global engagement,” she said.
The hybrid engagements will continue until 02 October at Welkom Campus and conclude on 03 October at Bloemfontein Campus. International participants include the Tampere University of Technology, Finland, University of Botswana, Botswana Open university, Botswana International University of Science and Technology, Limkokwing University of Creative Technology, Malaysia, National university of Lesotho, Meru University of Science and Technology, Kenya and National University of Science and Technology, Zimbabwe.
