CUT enhances multilingual capabilities with new interpreting system
Multilingual Simultaneous Interpreting System envisioned to embrace linguistic diversity and enhance its multilingual capabilities. The university is now better equipped to truly embed its multilingual language policy into the fabric of daily campus life.

The CUT Language Services Unit (LSU) successfully took a significant stride in hosting a crucial training session on the university's new multilingual simultaneous interpreting system envisioned to embrace linguistic diversity and enhance its multilingual capabilities. This state-of-the-art system is designed to promote linguistic diversity and significantly enhance CUT’s capacity for multilingual communication across both academic and administrative settings.This represents a key step forward in creating a more inclusive and globally connected learning environment.
The training equipped participants with essential skills to operate the interpreting system effectively, ensuring its seamless integration into upcoming projects and events. Language Practice students particularly benefited, gaining valuable hands-on experience with professional-grade tools that will serve them well in their future careers.
This initiative not only supports the university's commitment to inclusivity and accessibility but also positions it as a forward-thinking institution ready to meet the demands of a multilingual global community.
Participants who attended the Multilingual Simultaneous Interpreting System Training including staff members from the Department of Communication Sciences, advanced and postgraduate students specialising in Language Practice and the Disability Unit Services. The training was facilitated by Shane Setowski, a Technological Specialist at Mitech Direct.
