CUT Welkom Choir impress adjudicators at the Tiro Mpane Foundation National Choral Eisteddfod

CUT Welkom Campus Choir participated at the annual Tiro Mpane Foundation National Choral Eisteddfod Free State Regional Eliminations, held at the Performing Arts Centre, Bloemfontein, on 07 September 2024. The choristers were led by conductor, Mr Thabang Mangoejane and the Chorus Master, Mr Goitsemang Mahoko. The African composition, "Famban’ Kahle”, and the Western piece, "Lustige Ziguener Weissen", composed by Emmerich Kalman and Mr. SJ Khoza, respectively, were performed. The choristers saw victory on both pieces: 1st place: African piece, 3rd place: Western piece and 3rd overall in the Standard Category.

Tiro Mpane Foundation National Choral Eisteddford is a prestigious cultural event dedicated to celebrating the diversity of choral music excellence and fostering artistic talent within communities. Founded by the Tiro Mpane Foundation, this annual festival stands as a testament to the transformative power of music in enriching lives and connecting hearts.
