CUT celebrates Dr Khohliso’s appointment to the National Education and Training Council

The Central University of Technology, Free State (CUT), proudly congratulates Dr Xolani Khohliso on his appointment by the Minister of Basic Education, Ms Siviwe Gwarube, MP, to serve on the National Education and Training Council (NETC). Dr Khohliso currently serves as the Director of the Curriculum and Academic Staff Development Unit within the Centre for Innovation in Learning and Teaching (CILT). His appointment, following Cabinet concurrence, underscores the confidence placed in his leadership, expertise, and commitment to advancing education.
The NETC, established in terms of section 11 of the National Education Policy Act, 1996 (Act No. 27 of 1996), is mandated to advise the Minister of Basic Education on policy matters relating to school education, as well as to provide input on strategic issues identified by the Minister.
The new cohort of Council members reflects a deliberate effort to bring together a wide spectrum of expertise in education policy, curriculum development and delivery, pedagogy, and education management and governance. The appointment of Dr Khohliso strong affirmation of the university’s ongoing contribution to improving the quality of teaching and learning across South Africa’s education system.
CUT celebrates this appointment as recognition of both Dr Xolani Khohliso’s individual excellence and the collective role that the university continues to play in shaping South Africa’s educational landscape.
