CUT notes with sadness the tragic loss of a young life
The Central University of Technology, Free State (CUT) notes with deep sadness and concern the tragic loss of life in the reported gender-based violence incident involving the tragic killing of Ms Entle Manzi, allegedly by her ex-boyfriend, Mr Mihlali Tuoane.
CUT is aware of ongoing public conversations on social media, particularly on X (formally Twitter) where the matter is increasingly being linked to the institution.
While the alleged perpetrator is reported to be a CUT graduate, this matter does not reflect the values of our institution. CUT maintains a zero-tolerance stance on all forms of gender-based violence and unequivocally condemns such acts. Our thoughts are with the family, friends, and all those affected.
CUT remains committed to a safe, student-centred environment and to advancing a society free from violence.
