CUT’s incoming Enactus President plans to devise more impactful projects
Enactus-CUT welcomes Masego More as the newly appointed President for the 2022/23 financial year. Masego follows in the footsteps of previously successful presidents who took the organisation to another level.
Born and bred in Bloemfontein, Masego completed her high school at Our Father's Academy, a small private school in Universitas, Bloemfontein. The 22 years old said her leadership journey started in high school, where she was a prefect and later head girl in her final year of high school. She enrolled for a Bachelor of Engineering Technology in Mechanical Engineering and is currently in her 3rd year.
Asked when she became part of Enactus-CUT, Masego said, “I joined Enactus-CUT in my first year and moved up the ranks as a Project Leader, a Vice-President, and now I'm the President.
When describing her leadership style, Masego said that she sees herself as a transformational leader, also known as a visionary leader. “I'm strongly committed to organizational purpose and big-picture goals. I tend to set objectives by mapping out where the organisation is going and what will happen when we get there. This inspired, future-focused vision is used to set expectations that engages and energizes teammates.”
“My plan as the new president is to increase our team's efficiency, not only in the work that we do but even with the goals and objectives we set. I would like to see all our initiated enterprises running efficiently and creating as much impact as we can. Looking back at what I've learned from the Enactus World Cup in Puerto Rico, I realised that the main factor that assisted other countries to reach their milestones is aiming to make an impact in their communities and creating it in a productive and efficient manner. This kind of impact is one that touches the environmental, governmental, and societal aspects in communities, and this is where we will be heading.”
Her main goal is to produce young entrepreneurs that are competitive in their respective industries and shaking the market like never before. “But most importantly, changing and empowering the lives of our communities in this region,” she added.
