CUT’s annual Vice-Chancellor’s Awards held to appreciate outstanding employees
CUT held its annual Vice-Chancellor’s Excellence Awards on 13 October 2022, to acknowledge and appreciate excellence and award the outstanding achievements of university academics and support staff.
The objective of the awards was to demonstrate the university’s commitment to research and innovation teaching, curriculum innovation and community engagement-related engagement; create an environment which recognises and awards achievement in research and innovation and community engagement; and enhance excellence in research and innovation and community engagement through a recognition process.
In acknowledging the recipients, Professor Alfred Ngowi, acting Vice-Chancellor and Principal said, “your efforts and dedication are exemplary to all of us. As an institution with a vision to be the leading African University of Technology, we strive for the quality and grit that you display through your work. It is exciting that this year we have received outstanding nominations and I am excited about our university’s output under very strenuous circumstances. This is indicative of our resilience and tenacity to progress irrespective of the challenges we face.”

Professor Alfred Ngowi also added that the Vice-Chancellor’s Excellence Awards also stimulate ideas and innovation from the academic teams and support staff to go beyond their call of duty. “It is through your deep commitment and your efforts that we continue to adapt and improve to meet every challenge successfully as we move forward into the future”.
