CUT Wellness Centre, SRC and Gift of the Givers Foundation spread hope to unfunded students through grocery hamper initiative
CUT Wellness Centre, Gift of the Givers Foundation and SRC Unite to Bring Relief to Unfunded Students Through Grocery Hampers.
The CUT Wellness Centre, in collaboration with the Student Representative Council (SRC) and the Gift of the Givers Foundation, extended a helping hand to unfunded students by donating 150 grocery hampers to those in need.
This heartfelt initiative comes at a crucial time, as students prepare for their final examinations, a period often marked by both financial and emotional pressure. The donation aims to ensure that no student faces hunger during this critical season, reaffirming CUT’s commitment to student wellness, dignity, and academic success.
The project embodies the spirit of compassion and community that defines CUT as a university that not only focuses on academic excellence but also prioritises the holistic well-being of its students.

150 grocery hampers, countless smiles! CUT Wellness Centre, SRC, and Gift of the Givers have brought hope to the students in need through the grocery hampers initiative.
Ms. Nthabiseng Afrika, Wellness Centre Manager, expressed her gratitude and hope for the initiative’s impact: “When students are well-nourished and supported, they perform better. This initiative is about giving them one less thing to worry about during such a demanding time. We are deeply grateful to the Gift of the Givers Foundation for their generosity and partnership in making this possible,” said Africa.
Through this act of kindness, CUT continues to live up to its values of care, empathy, and shared humanity, ensuring that every student feels seen, supported, and empowered to succeed.
