CUT Football subdue UFS team in first-ever Free State derby

Men of the moment enjoying the home ground: CUT is among the only eight universities who qualified for the varsity football out of the 26 Universities.

It was a blazing match between the neighbour institutions when they tackled each other at the first-ever Bloemfontein Derby in Varsity Football. The Central University of Technology Free State (CUT) played the University of the Free State (UFS) on 15 August 2019 at the CUT football grounds. CUT did not show any mercy to their neighbours and took advantage of their home ground. Supporters came in numbers to witness this exciting match and chanted songs to cheer the players. Of the 26 Universities, CUT is among the only eight universities who qualified for the varsity football.

The victory was witnessed as CUT beat UFS 2-0 by CUT players. The two goals were scored respectively by Itumeleng Chelopo and Mothusi Madilola.

Mpho Molwatse (CUT) won the FNB Player of the Match, Thabo Samuel (CUT) took the Debonairs Pizza Real Deal Save of the Match prize while MTN Pulse Moment of Brilliance went to Oratile Mothibedi (CUT)
