NSFAS Board Resignations Update
Dear CUT Community,
We wish to bring to your attention the statement issued by the Minister of Higher Education and Training, Mr Buti Manamela, regarding recent resignations from the Board of the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS).
We understand that developments of this nature may raise concerns, particularly given the critical role NSFAS plays in supporting our students. However, we would like to reassure the entire university community that the Minister has taken firm and proactive steps to stabilise the situation and ensure continuity.
Importantly, the Minister affirmed that NSFAS operations will remain fully functional, and the disbursement of student funding will continue without disruption. The Department is closely monitoring the situation and engaging all relevant stakeholders to safeguard the integrity and stability of the scheme.
At this stage, there is no anticipated impact on CUT students or institutional processes. We therefore encourage all staff and students to remain calm and focused, as all necessary measures are being taken care of at national level to manage the situation effectively.
The university will continue to monitor developments and provide updates should any changes arise.
