CUT Student Housing: Call for non-accredited properties to provide student housing
The Dean of Students at the Central University of Technology, Free State (CUT) invites private, non-accredited property owners to enlist their rooms for student housing. This initiative addresses the growing number of NSFAS-funded students and aims to provide accommodation that meets the Department of Higher Education's "minimum norms and standards."
Key Requirements
- Rent must align with the lower grade of NSFAS pricing.
- No additional charges (e.g., Wi-Fi, admin fees, electricity) may be imposed.
- Landlords must enter into lease agreements with students and have a bank account for payments.
- CUT students must adhere to both CUT's general housing rules (which will be shared with landlords) and any reasonable occupancy rules outlined in the lease agreement.
Interested landlords must visit the student housing offices at the CUT campus nearest their property (Bloemfontein or Welkom). This call remains open until Monday, 31 March 2025 (end of business).
Enquiries can be directed to ssepeng@cut.ac.za (Bloemfontein) and npule@cut.ac.za (Welkom). Find and review NSFAS grading and pricing here.
Note: non-accredited landlords must note that students might also visit their properties for such purposes, and we request that they be assisted.
