Important Information for Prospective Students: Beware of scammers

The Central University of Technology, Free State (CUT) wishes to provide clear guidelines for all prospective students regarding the registration process for the 2025 academic year.

Beware of scammers

CUT warns prospective students against individuals or organisations claiming to assist with applications in exchange for payment. CUT does not charge an application fee and has no authorised consultants to assist with the application process. If you are asked for money, please know that this is a scam. Always follow the official application process outlined on our website. You can whistle blow on this link.

Enrolment numbers and no late applications

The Department of Higher Education has set CUT’s undergraduate enrolment capacity for 2025 at 4 515 spots for first-time entering students. To ensure fairness and compliance, late applications and walk-ins will not be accepted.

Central Application Clearing House (CACH)

For applicants who were unsuccessful or rejected, the Central Application Clearing House (CACH) offers a valuable support system. CACH assists with career development opportunities and helps applicants access available spaces at public universities, TVET colleges, or SETA learnerships.

CACH will open for applications on 27 January 2025. Register online at cach.cas.ac.za.
