Finance: Notice of delay in payments to Suppliers

We regret to inform you that there has been a delay in the processing of payments to suppliers that should be released on 15 March 2021 due to student protests which has resulted in university staff being denied access to the university’s premises from 9 March 2021.

During that time and due to concerns for safety and well-being of staff, students and all other stakeholders, academic activities and operations were suspended on the Bloemfontein campus from 10 to 12 March 2021 while the university management attempted to find a viable solution to the matter.

Subsequently staff were encouraged to work from home in as far as is possible, however a lack of access to premises translated to a lack of access to most information and documentation that is necessary to effect payments.

With the above being noted, the Financial Operations unit is putting all effort to ensure that upon regaining access to premises, the time lost is recovered as quickly as possible and payments are processed accordingly.

For enquiries, please contact the following staff members in the Creditors unit:

Suppliers may also contact the Procurement unit:

On behalf of the university, management wishes to express its regret for the inconveniences this may have caused suppliers, students, and staff.
