CUT Commences Registration for the 2026 Academic Year
First-time entering undergraduate students at CUT Welkom Campus complete their online registration with on-site assistance.
Registration is a critical process that formally enrolls students and ensures they are prepared to commence their academic programmes. To enhance accessibility and convenience, the Central University of Technology, Free State (CUT) offers a hybrid registration process, allowing students to register online from the comfort of their homes or receive assistance on campus when required.
CUT officially commenced registration for the 2026 academic year on 19 January 2026, marking a significant milestone in the academic calendar. Students began completing their registration through both online platforms and on-campus support services as preparations for the new academic year gained momentum.
Registration for first-time entering undergraduate students runs from 19 to 23 January 2026, while senior students are scheduled to register from 27 to 30 January 2026. The university urges all students to adhere strictly to these dates to ensure a smooth and timely start to the academic year.

Bloemfontein Campus: First-year students received guidance and support from a team of dedicated student assistants to ensure efficient and seamless experience.
Interest in studying at CUT has increased notably, with 250,182 applications received for 2026, compared to 186,003 applications in the previous year. To date, 3,171 first-time entering undergraduate students have successfully completed their registration, reflecting a positive start to the 2026 academic intake.

In accordance with institutional procedures, no walk-in registrations are permitted during this period. CUT remains committed to delivering an inclusive, efficient, and accessible registration process and looks forward to welcoming students as they begin their academic journey in 2026.
