SHORT CV
Jeanette du Plessis is the Head of the Department of Clinical Science where the programmes Radiography, Emergency Medical Care and the Extended Curriculum Programme for the Faculty of Health and Environmental Sciences (FHES) reside. During her employment at CUT she has taught in Radiography at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and has supervised master’s and doctoral students. As part of her passion for education in the health professions, she acts as a mentor for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) initiative at the university and is involved in staff training as part of this initiative. She is an active member of the South African Sweden University Forum (SASUF) and has delivered papers and a workshop at this forum. Her research interests include health professions education, work-integrated learning and peer-assisted learning. She has published in accredited and non-accredited journals, and has delivered many papers at national and international conferences. She received a Thuthuka grant from the National Research Foundation (NRF) in South Africa (SA) for an action research project on peer-assisted learning and a TAU fellowship in 2020.
