Professional Background

Carla Labuschagne is the Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) Coordinator and Industry Liaison at the Central University of Technology (CUT). With over six years of experience in higher education, she has developed strong expertise in experiential education, student support, industry engagement, stakeholder relations, and project management.

Carla plays a key role in coordinating and implementing WIL programmes, facilitating student placements, and building meaningful partnerships between CUT and industry. She works closely with internal and external stakeholders to create opportunities that support student development, workplace readiness, and graduate employability. Previously a member of the Lejweleputswa Innovation Platform Team, she currently serves as an EXCO member of the Free State Goldfields Chamber of Business. Committed to lifelong learning, she is actively involved in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL), with a growing research focus on student development, employability, and strengthening university–industry partnerships.
