On 23 May 2023, CUT International Student Association held the X-Culture Entrepreneurial Excellence Ceremony celebration at the Bloemfontein campus to celebrate the accomplishments of CUT students who participated in the X-Culture virtual exchange program and also to award them with certificates. X-Culture is a platform that fosters the growth of 21st century employability skills, which are essential for graduates to thrive in today’s globalised workforce and attracts about 5 000 students from 150 universities in 40 countries across six continents every semester.
X-Culture as an Internationalisation at Home (I@H) initiative has revolutionised the way students and staff approach internationalisation at the CUT. The program is aligned with the university’s commitment to Internationalization at Home and provides an alternative mode of global engagement by offering students a remarkable opportunity to experience the benefits of a global perspective without leaving the confines of the university.
As part of the program, best students are selected and from 12-19 July 2023 two students from CUT, Ntebaleng Mopedi, 3rd year Human Resource student from Welkom campus and Simphiwe Mkhonazi, Bachelor of Electrical Engineering graduate from the Bloemfontein campus will be attending the Global Business week Conference at Maria Curie-Sklodowska University in Lubin, Poland.
Mr Sekoele Ramajoe, Coordinator, Internationalisation at Home said that X-Culture is a professional association dedicated to developing and disseminating knowledge about international business. “We are committed to shaping the future of international business students and their education. X-culture membership consists of scholars at colleges, universities, and research institutions as well as practitioners with scholarly interests from businesses, government, and not-for-profit organisations,” said Ramajoe.
