IPADA honours CUT’s Dean of Students, Dr Bernard Sebake, with Distinguished Award for contributions to public administration and development
The Central University of Technology acknowledges Dean of Students, Dr Bernard Sebake’s receipt of the IPADA Distinguished Award for academic work and contribution to knowledge in Public Administration and Development.
Awarded at the 10th International Conference on Public Administration and Development Alternatives in Cape Town from 9 to 12 September 2025, the recognition reflects sustained scholarly engagement. Dr Sebake has presented research at all nine previous IPADA conferences since the association’s founding in 2016.
“My work includes collaborative book projects that have advanced understanding in the field. A recent focus has been on integrating student governance into the curricula of Public Administration and Political Science, a proposal grounded in research on youth development and institutional practice,” said Dr Sebake.
Through IPADA, Dr Sebake has built research connections across countries, and these networks support scholarly capacity on the African continent. The university notes this award as part of its broader commitment to increase research impact by 2030.
