CUT academic's expertise recognised by Global Education Monitoring (GEM), UNESCO for Lesotho assignment
We’re excited to share that Prof. Tshedi Naong, Business Management professor in the Faculty of Management Sciences, has been invited by UNESCO’s Global Education Monitoring (GEM) Report to review Lesotho’s public financing for equity in primary and secondary education.
This prestigious invitation highlights Prof. Naong’s dedication and expertise in education equity. His review will contribute to the GEM Report’s ongoing efforts to track progress toward Sustainable Development Goal 4 (quality education for all) and the Education 2030 Framework.
Since 2002, the GEM Report has tackled key education themes each year. The 2026 focus is on access and equity, and through the Profiles Enhancing Education Reviews (PEER) initiative, countries’ strategies for funding equitable education are being examined.
PEER profiles aim to encourage learning and dialogue between countries on education goals while providing detailed analysis of national policies. Prof. Naong’s role is to review Lesotho’s profile using the guidance from GEM/UNESCO.
“We congratulate Prof. Naong on this impressive achievement and his valuable contributions to advancing education and equity,” said Dr. Dineo Dzanzi, Head of the Department of Management Sciences.
“We congratulate Prof. Naong on this remarkable achievement and recognition of his scholarly contributions to education and equity,” said Dr Dineo Dzanzi, HoD: Department of Management Sciences.
