CUT staff acknowledged for their hard work and dedication at the annual Vice- Chancellor’s Excellence Awards

CUT hosted the Vice-Chancellor’s Excellence Awards to honour and recognise exceptional performance of academic and support staff in the categories of teaching, research, community engagement, innovation and entrepreneurship. The event was hosted at the famous CUT Hotel School. On 12 October 2023 the Vice-Chancellor and Principal, Prof. Pamela Dube celebrated and honoured the outstanding work and achievements of staff members at the annual Vice-Chancellor Excellence Awards ceremony.

Through these annual awards, the university takes pride in acknowledging and celebrating the extra mile and exceptional contributions made by employees and continues to nurture a culture of excellence and innovation that aligns seamlessly with its mission and vision. The recipients stand as beacons of inspiration for the entire academic community and serve as a testament to the boundless possibilities that lie ahead as CUT journeys toward realising its Vision 2030.

In her congratulatory message, the Vice-Chancellor and Principal said that the university aims to demonstrate its commitment to these areas by creating an environment that recognises achievement and enhances excellence. “The recipients of these awards are commended for demonstrating that excellence is possible amidst an ever-rising tendency toward acceptance of mediocrity. As a University of Technology, we are committed to quality teaching and learning to advance the mandate of innovation and creativity. Our success is built on the efforts of our staff, and the university is grateful for your contributions. With these awards, we are showing the world that we are a university which offers solutions to help overcome current difficulties in our communities, while at the same time, supporting the advancement of our university within the sector.  I am confident that you are well-positioned to use your projects and translate them into programmes that will profile us well among our peers and uplift the university’s rankings. Congratulations to you!”
