Communiqué to CUT community: Vision 2030 Engagement Platform

Dear CUT Community

As you know, the Central University of Technology, Free State (CUT) is embarking on co-creating our Vision 2030. As indicated in my first communiqué of 2020, dated 31 January 2020:

It was agreed in 2019 by all our stakeholders that the university will embark on the review process of Vision 2020, the 2016 – 2020 Strategic Plan, and the 2016 – 2020 Transformation Plan. Parallel to this process will be the setting of Vision 2030, the 2021 – 2025 Strategic Plan, the 2021 – 2025 Transformation Plan, and high-level strategic indicators/targets for 2030, by using the 2020 – 2025 Enrolment Plan as reference.

In line with our theme for 2020, namely "Reimagining CUT: Co-creating Vision 2030 – our people, our voices”, we have developed an engagement platform called “CUT Vision 2030”, which will allow anyone with an interest in the setting of our Vision 2030 to contribute to the process.

I would like to encourage all stakeholders – students, parents/guardians, alumni, employees, partners, business/industry, government and higher education affiliates – to share their views and inputs with us. A screenshot of the engagement platform is provided below:

Figure: Current homepage of the CUT Vision 2030 engagement platform.

The platform already contains the following information:

  1. Vision 2020 document archive;
  2. Vision 2030 working documents (Strategic Planning Working Group); and
  3. discussion point questions.

The Vision 2030 Strategic Planning Working Group (V2030-SPWG) will draw your attention to particular topics for discussion on the homepage of the CUT Vision 2030 engagement platform, via the CUT website (www.cut.ac.za), the Thutong Today (for employees) and social networks.

You are also welcome to engage the relevant documents by clicking on the following link: Strategic Planning Working Group. Please note that the platform requires you to have a Microsoft account. Should you require any assistance, you can send an e-mail message to ICTServiceDesk@cut.ac.za.

This is an opportunity for us all to co-create the vision of our university, and to contribute to the future of CUT as a model university of technology in Africa. Please register/login and start engaging.
