Update statement on suspension of Prof. Henk de Jager

The precautionary suspension of Prof. de Jager effectively ends on 11th March 2021 (return date to work is 12th March 2021).

The matter brought by Prof. de Jager against CUT was set down in the High Court for hearing on an URGENT BASIS for 11th March 2021.

The court ruled that the application is not urgent and is therefore struck off roll due to lack of urgency and/or unsubstantiated urgency.

The Court ruled not to deal with the matter further as the precautionary suspension expires on 11th March, the same date of hearing of the matter. The Court pronounced not to address other matters raised, such as access to reports on the investigation as the basis of these demands was unclear.
