The Chairperson of the CUT Council and the Chairperson of the Selection Committee for the appointment of the CUT Vice-Chancellor and Principal hereby cordially invite you to join us for presentations by the three preferred candidates for the position of CUT Vice-Chancellor and Principal.  The presentations will be delivered by the candidates in the Boet Troskie Hall on Tuesday, 23 August 2022 at 08:30.

The topic of the presentation by the candidates is:

• Recently, the South African Higher Education sector has been faced with a plethora of unprecedented dynamics, including:
• the transition into university 4.0, and its effects on teaching and learning pedagogy;
• the onslaught of the COVID-19 pandemic and its aftermath;
• fiscal constraints premised on the bleak global economy and the inconsistent electricity supply (persistent load-shedding); and
• the expectations of students regarding the promise of free education, juxtaposed against the fragile social compact evidenced by persistent protests.
• Should you be appointed as Vice-Chancellor and Principal of CUT, how would you harness innovation and sustainability associated with the above four aspects through teaching, learning, research and engagement to lead CUT towards the attainment of its Vision 2030 and beyond?
