Additional Admission Requirements
The minimum admission requirement is an appropriate Diploma or Bachelor Degree at NQF level 6 with Anatomy and Physiology modules at 2nd-year level. Prospective students with equivalent qualifications and/or relevant experience may be considered for the programme by applying for recognition of prior learning. |

Career Opportunities
Dermal Therapists can work independently or hand-in-hand with specialists like aesthetic surgeons or dermatologists in clinics, medical practices, advanced beauty and cosmetic settings. Recuperative Therapists can be self-employed or employed at under more rehabilitation centres, hospices, cancer centres or oncology spas. Other career options include Permanent makeup artists or Spa managers. The Advanced Diploma also provides a pathway for further studies into a Post Graduate Diploma. |
Remarks
The Advanced Diploma in Therapeutic Services is ideal for Somatologists and other healthcare professionals (i.e. nurses ) who wish to specialise in either dermal therapies or recuperative therapies. Instructional offerings marked with an asterisk (*) is optional and students have to select one of the two offerings as part of the qualification.
The qualification is offered mainly online and students will only need to attend certain practical block-sessions on campus. Therefore, students should have access to electronic devices to partake in this qualification.
