Our Core Engineering Streams

Electrical Engineering: Light Current
Focuses on the application of electricity and electronics in low-voltage systems. Students explore circuit design, microelectronics, instrumentation, and the integration of electronic components into modern devices and communication networks.
Electrical Engineering: Heavy Current
Centres on the generation, transmission, distribution, and utilisation of electrical power. This stream prepares students for careers in power systems, electrical infrastructure, and large-scale industrial applications.
Higher Certificate in Renewable Energy Technologies (HC: RET)
This qualification aims to produce capable engineering technicians and technologists who can thrive in the modern technological environment and contribute meaningfully to South Africa's socio-economic development. It is designed to create innovative, visionary graduates equipped for tomorrow's green technology needs.
Primary Purpose
To academically position learners with a relevant mix of subjects, enabling them to secure employment, add value in their current roles as renewable energy installation and maintenance providers, or strengthen their academic profile for entry into a Diploma programme.
Graduate Competencies
Upon completion, learners will be competent, responsible auxiliaries in the implementation of Renewable Energy Technologies (RET). They will be fully equipped to assist technologists and engineers in the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of RET systems.
