Programme-Specific Requirements

Minimum Prior Qualification

An appropriate 360-credit qualification at exit level 6 of the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) (e.g., an undergraduate diploma, including a college Diploma 6), or a Level 7 Bachelor’s degree. The prior qualification must include adequate disciplinary learning in cognate academic fields and be linked to a teaching specialisation relevant to the TVET context.

Subject Knowledge & Prerequisites

Where disciplinary subject knowledge is deemed insufficient upon review, additional learning courses may be required before the qualification can be awarded. Prospective students should ensure their prior studies align closely with their intended TVET teaching specialisation.

Selection Process

Admission is subject to institutional rules and regulations, and the successful alignment of the applicant's prior qualification with the chosen TVET teaching specialisation.

Duration & Award

One year’s full-time or two years’ part-time study. After successful completion of this qualification, the Advanced Diploma in Technical and Vocational Teaching will be awarded during an official graduation ceremony of CUT.
