When delivering his message of support to the newly vested Vice-Chancellor and Principal, Prof. Pamela Dube, the University of the Free State Rector and Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Francis Petersen said, “I believe we cannot successfully fulfil our role and purpose, nor negotiate the current changing landscape of higher education without a clear vision of where we want to go. We know that CUT has crystallised a vision for itself in a similar fashion to illuminate the road ahead and with regard to accomplishing that vision, may you, on the journey that lies before you, continuously draw on the passion you have for higher education and also for this institution. As the University of Free State, we want to assure you of our support, develop and expand our relations for many years to come.”
