Central University of Technology (CUT) Registration Update: 2026 Academic Year
Dear CUT Community,
As per the registration calendar, the undergraduate registration cycle for the 2026 academic year concludes today, 06 February 2026. The Central University of Technology, Free State extends its sincere appreciation to both students and staff for their cooperation, resilience, and commitment throughout what has been a demanding, high-volume registration period. We have noted that a limited number of students may still require assistance due to outstanding academic, financial, or administrative matters. Such cases will be managed on an ad hoc basis as the registration process concludes. The affected students are encouraged to communicate with the respective offices. These students will be assisted until Wednesday, 11 February 2026. This provision must be limited to this date to ensure that the academic calendar is not adversely affected and that the registration process is brought to a close.
The University has successfully achieved 101% of its approved headcount target, against an anticipated enrolment of 21 418 students. Furthermore, achieved 102% of its approved FTEN Undergraduate target, against the approved enrolment of 4656.
Registration progress is summarised below:
• Total students registered: 21 671
• First-time entering students registered: 4 784
These figures reflect that the University has successfully reached its enrolment goals for the 2026 academic year. This achievement is commendable.
All students are encouraged to finalise their registration today the 06 February 2026 as formal teaching and learning activities commences on 9 February 2026.
