Additional Admission Requirements
A potential learner should possess a Postgraduate Diploma or an Honours Degree in Agriculture or relevant qualification on NQF level 8. Admission to the Master’s degree will be subject to a review process. A student must have a 60% average at Postgraduate/Honours level. The student must have passed Research Methodology course with a minimum of 60%. Alternatively, under exceptional circumstances, any other qualification or related experience that is considered relevant and sufficient by the Agricultural programme (CUT) may be considered. |

Career Opportunities
The primary purpose of the qualification is to provide an advanced programme in Agriculture in order to equip master graduates with the necessary knowledge, skills and values in agriculture to pursue a career in the Agricultural Sector and related fields with a view of equipping them to function in middle to senior executive echelons. The research master qualification will enable graduates to become specialists in Agriculture by gaining in-depth, abstract knowledge in a complex area of study. |
The main purpose of this qualification is to develop research competence in students so that they can make a significant academic contribution in their disciplines or fields, that is, Agriculture. A great deal of emphasis is placed on self-directed reading and scientific enquiry. This is a research-based qualification and students are required to write a dissertation.
