The Central University of Technology was invited to present at the 2023 Botswana Engineers Registration Board (ERB) Engineering Week and to follow up on the ongoing collaborative activities of the CUT and the University of Botswana partnership.

The University of Botswana is no stranger to CUT as the two universities collaborate in research and academic thematic mobility of staff and students. Since the signing of their Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), Work-Integrated Learning has been the pinnacle for this between the two.

Engagements in Botswana included attending the 2023 Annual Engineers Registration Board (ERB) Engineering Week, which was held under the theme “Creative and Innovative Engineering Value Chain – From Rhetoric to Action”. The main objective of the engineering week was to celebrate and showcase the contributions of engineering and engineering professionals in uplifting Botswana society and the economy.

Since the MoU between CUT and UB was signed in 2018, several visits of delegations from the partners have taken place. This visit provided an opportunity to discuss the progress of these projects with the UB Executive team and recommit to their implementation.

Besides participation at the 2023 ERB Engineering Week, the visit to Botswana enabled a follow-up of the collaboration activities between CUT and the University of Botswana.
