When addressing the graduates, Prof. Henk de Jager, Deputy Vice-Chancellor: Academic and Research said, “This is a proud moment for us as CUT to see you completing your journey of many years. As you celebrate your success, bear in mind that your journey does not end here, this is just the beginning. When you go out there, you will be faced with challenges of unemployment and poverty stricken communities. Those individuals are depending on you to make a difference in their lives. This occasion is a confirmation that you have all the necessary skills and knowledge to tackle all those challenges, so go out there, make us proud, conquer, and make a difference!” Prof. Henk further thanked the parents for their continuous support towards their children’s success. Amongst the guests who graced the event were parents, students and Prof. Sagini Keengwe, a visiting professor from the University of Dakota.
