SA Diplomatic Delegates visit CPRM
On 06 June 2016, the Free State Development Corporation (FDC), Head of Missions delegation and government officials visited CUT’s Centre for Rapid Prototyping and Manufacturing (CRPM), which specializes in Additive Manufacturing (AM), to look at the social and technological innovations at CUT and machines that produced them. The main objective of the visit was to collaborate with the University in areas such as skills development and research, as well as to source financial support where necessary and expose local talent globally.

Free State Development Corporation (FDC) is a government agency responsible for driving economic development in the Free State. Various commercial activities such as enterprise development, property portfolio management, investment promotion were discussed between the two institutions. During the site visit at the CPRM and other state of the art facilities, the delegation expressed interest to work with the University in creating spin off companies out of the current IP portfolio.  

Head of Missions are recently appointed Ambassadors that will be sent to South Africa’s Foreign Missions in other countries. Their role is to represent South Africa’s interest and promote South Africa’s Economic Diplomacy. The delegates are Ms Suhayfa Ebrahim Zia and Ms Tanya J Sefolo- Minister Plenipotentiary Mr Phumelele S Sizani, Rev Harris M Majeke, Mr Roy O Setlhapelo, and Mrs Mmamokwena J Gaoretelelwe - Ambassador Designates, and Mrs Talent SD Nxumalo, Consul General. They will be based in the following countries Portugal, Belgium, Burkina Faso, Italy, Canada, Eritrea, and German.
