Precautionary Suspension of the CUT FM Station Manager
The Central University of Technology (CUT) has placed the CUT Radio Station Manager, Ms Laila Nnyane under precautionary suspension pending the outcome of the investigation against her.
The relevant engagements on this process started as soon as the university became aware of the podcast in question and the precautionary suspension has been prompted by the need to conduct a thorough investigation into this matter without any suspicions of interference by Ms Nnyane, especially given her position within the radio station and the university .
This is in line with the CUT Policy and Disciplinary Procedure on Sexual and Gender-Related Misconduct.
In a world where gender-based violence (GBV) and harm, as well as predatory, grooming practices shadow the lives of many, CUT is committed to tackling GBV head-on throughout its campuses and community. We encourage our students and all members of the university community to continue to make use of our established structures to report any instances of GBV and harm.
