NASA App lets you keep up with Curiosity

NASA’s Curiosity Rover has been exploring Mars since it landed to much fanfare last August.

The Curisioty is roaming across the planet Mars. Rock dust drilled from sediments in the giant Gale crater on the red planet were found to contain clay minerals that can have formed only in water, scientists said. Instruments aboard the Curiosity rover have allowed scientists to build up a gradual picture of the planet's geological past, but the latest analyses are the strongest evidence yet that Mars was once hospitable to life. "A fundamental question for this mission is whether Mars could have supported a habitable environment," Michael Meyer, a lead scientist on Nasa's Mars Exploration Program, said. "From what we know now, the answer is yes." CUT has been keeping an eye on the NASA exploration as we have a vested interest in such mechanical technology and it will now be much easier with NASA App that has just been launched. Our Evolvable Manufacturing Systems (RGEMS) research group situated in the Department of Electrical, Electronic and Computer Engineering at CUT won the 2012 Siemens Cyber Junkyard Competition with their demonstration of how a system could produce orders in sequence from the exit conveyor in a hi-tech facility. You can now keep up with all NASA projects including the Curiosity Rover via the newly launched NASA App.
