It is the beginning of the University Rugby season

It is the beginning of the university rugby season and teams are preparing hard to start the league on the high note and CUT’s team- #RugbyThatRocks - who, despite already performed exceptionally well last season, still aspires to reach greater heights this season. Prof. Henk de Jager, Vice-Chancellor and Principal meet with the players and management to wish them well ahead of their first game on Monday, 10 February against University of Pretoria’s Tukkies.

CUT’s Sports Programmes lead students into successful careers and give them the opportunity to make the most of their lives. The team are the three times winners of the Varsity Shields from 2011 to 2014 and have since joined the Varsity Cup in 2015, a premier league of rugby where the team competes against some big universities with years of experience life and experience. The CUT community is immensely proud by the team’s current and past players who continue to have major impact on the country’s rugby landscape.
