An emotional moment for Ms Maki Pheleu, a cleaner who always goes an extra mile and does her job with ease. She is seen here with the Dean of Humanities, Prof. Nosisi Feza, who honoured her with a special award for her passion, dedication and hard work. The award is the first of its kind to be awarded by the faculty, and Ms Pheleu could not contain the tears of joy when receiving her certificate.

The Faculty of Humanities held its annual awards ceremony on 30 August 2019 to honour and celebrate the achievements of top-performing employees and students. As a CUT culture of showing appreciation to employees, a special award was presented to Ms Maki Pheleu, a cleaning lady who has proven to be exceptional and passionate about her work.

This is not only to recognise excellence but to motivate, appreciate and inspire other employees and students to do their best, no matter what they put their hands to doing. The award is the first of its kind to be awarded by the faculty.
