Dr Clifford Nxomani bids farewell to CUT Welkom Campus community
The Central University of Technology Free State (CUT), Welkom Campus, bid farewell to acting Campus Director, Dr Clifford Nxomani, on 25 June 2026, bringing to a close a transformative six-month leadership journey marked by progress, purpose, and unwavering commitment.
Reflecting on his tenure, Dr Nxomani highlighted significant strides in strengthening the campus through improved infrastructure, innovation, operational efficiency, and staff development. He emphasised that lasting institutional growth begins with people and the determination to turn vision into action.
"It's about mindset, commitment, drive, execution, diligence, discipline, focus and daring. If the will is there, we can achieve remarkable things," he said, encouraging staff to remain united in building a campus that responds meaningfully to the needs of students and the broader community through collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
He also paid tribute to the dedication of the Welkom Campus staff, acknowledging the often-unseen efforts that keep the university moving forward. "There is a lot that's going well on our campus. We need to acknowledge those who work diligently every day because the university stands on the commitment of those people," he said, urging colleagues to continue celebrating excellence while driving positive change.
In an emotional farewell, Dr Nxomani expressed his deep appreciation for the Welkom Campus community, describing his time at CUT as both rewarding and life changing. "I've spent a total of 18 months here, and I have fallen in love with this institution because of your warmth, dedication and commitment to realise the goals of this university. I've learned a great deal from all of you, and I appreciate your patience, support and enthusiasm. Thank you for allowing me to be part of this journey," he said.
As the campus bids him farewell, Dr Nxomani leaves behind more than completed projects and strategic milestones, he leaves a legacy of inspired leadership, collaboration, and a renewed belief in what the Welkom Campus community can achieve together.
