CUT, UFS, and Partners unite in support of Deaf Awareness Month
Side by side for equality, CUT and UFS communities join hands to support deaf awareness and inclusivity.
In a powerful show of unity, students, staff, and community members from the Central University of Technology (CUT), the University of the Free State (UFS), and partner organisations came together for a Silent March to raise awareness about the rights and challenges faced by persons with disabilities, particularly the deaf community. Held in a spirit of solidarity, the march aimed to promote inclusivity, equal opportunities, and respect for all.
The event brought together individuals, organisations, and advocates who walked side by side to peacefully highlight the importance of accessibility, dignity, and meaningful participation for people with disabilities. More than just a march, it was a shared commitment to building communities where everyone is seen, heard, and valued.

Marching together: CUT, UFS, and Partners honor Deaf Awareness Month. The march commenced at the UFS and concluded at the CUT grounds.
