CUT Swings with Purpose at 17th Annual Golf Day

Driving change, one swing at a time! ER 24 representatives stepping up and standing beside CUT in a mission to support student wellness.
The Central University of Technology, Free State (CUT) is dedicated not only to academic excellence but also to the holistic well-being of its students. This commitment was vividly showcased at the 17th Annual CUT Golf Day, where a lively gathering of alumni, partners, and friends of the University united to raise funds for CUT’s Student Wellness programmes.
Since its inception, the Golf Day has supported over 2,000 students by providing essential resources that enable them to pursue their education and transform their family circumstances. This year’s event continued that proud tradition, each swing and putt symbolising a step toward positive change, one student at a time.
The atmosphere on the course was electric, not just with friendly competition, but with compassion and community spirit. Conversations flourished, connections were forged, and the generosity of the attendees was palpable in every round played. It was a powerful reminder that when a community comes together, even a day on the greens can create meaningful impact.
CUT extends heartfelt gratitude to everyone who participated, sponsored, and supported this cause. “Your generosity is more than a donation; it’s a lifeline for students striving to change their circumstances and build a brighter future,” said Mr Mohau Manyarela, CUT Golf Team Manager.
CUT alumni Mr Mojalefa Xaba (right) and Mr Thapelo Mocwaledi (left) from Maine Chartered Accountants brought both pride and purpose to the greens. Their presence at the 17th Annual CUT Golf Day was a powerful display of support for student well-being and a reminder that giving back is always part of the game.
