CUT successfully completed the 2016 main Assessments
Management is pleased to announce that the University has successfully completed the 2016 academic year without difficulties. The main assessments began from 7 November to 25 November 2016 while supplementary assessments from 28 November to 3 December 2016.

A positive mood was notable at CUT during these assessments and different from the past two months in which universities were grappling with the implications of the fee-must-fall for the sector. “Without a doubt, we have achieved what many never expected within this short space of time. While our campuses remain calm during this critical period, we will continue to monitor these developments and challenges likely to impact on our campuses in the near future,” said Prof. Henk de Jager, Acting Vice-Chancellor and Principal.

He commended student leaders for working with management and bringing stability at Bloemfontein and Welkom Campuses; especially the Student Representative Council (SRC) members for their courage and commitment to constructive engagements. Prof. de Jager also thanked all students, staff and parents and guardians for their support and commitment in ensuring the successful completion of the 2016 academic year. “It says something about the caliber of students and staff, and student, unions and staff leadership at CUT,” he concluded. The schedule for the rest of 2016 and the beginning of 2017 are as follow: 1. On Friday, 9 December 2016 we will release final assessment marks. 2. Campuses close for the year on Thursday, 15 December 2016. 3. Campuses reopen for the new academic year on Tuesday, 3 January 2017.
