CUT SRC launches the Red Card Campaign
CUT’s Student Representative Council launched the RED Card campaign against women and child abuse, hate crimes, stigma and discrimination against homosexuality on 16 May 2014.

The campaign included amongst other things, the “BRING BACK OUR GIRLS” (#bringbackourgirls) plea to the Boko Haram militants who stormed into the Chibok government’s girls’ secondary school in the Northeastern state of Borno and kidnapped more than two hundred Nigerian school girls on 14 April. David Makhoali, CUT SRC Bloemfontein president said that the march was peaceful and fully supported.  "We would like to thank our fellow students including the Student Services Unit for taking ownership in this kind of initiatives and would also like to commend the manager of South African Human Rights Commission, Free State, Mr Buang Jones for gracing this event,” he concluded.
