The CUT Hotel School accepted the Chefs with Compassion 2023 challenge to cook #67000 litres of soup, where 25 culinary schools and hotels around the country played a role to feed the hungry as part of the Mandela Day celebration.
As part of their contribution to the #67000Litres volume of soup (25 kitchens x 2 680 litres = #67000litres), the CUT Hotel School kitchen prepared 150 litres in two types of hearty nutritious soup (minestrone and chicken and potato soups), which was donated to local charity organisations. Some of the charity organisations around Bloemfontein include Anchor of Hope Men’s Shelter, Pregnancy Crisis Centre of Hope (PCC)- Anchor of Hope, Kidz Care Trust, Bloem Shelter for Women, and AFM church (Opkoms Heidedal).
