CUT Hosts First Convocation Induction Following Reconstitution, Strengthening Alumni Partnership and Institutional Governance

Members of the convocation celebrate a new chapter in CUT’s alumni governance.

The Central University of Technology, Free State (CUT) hosted its first Convocation Induction following the reorganisation of the Convocation structures, a significant milestone that reinforces the university’s commitment to strong alumni engagement and inclusive governance. This inaugural ceremony marks a new chapter for CUT, demonstrating its dedication to meaningful participation, collaborative leadership, and a vibrant alumni community.

The event signalled the official revival of an essential governance and engagement body. Through the reconstituted Convocation, CUT has strengthened its relationship with alumni and ensured that their voices play a meaningful role in shaping the university’s strategic direction. The renewed structure also creates opportunities for alumni to contribute more actively to student success, academic excellence, innovation, and community impact.
