CUT community remembered students who passed on
CUT recently hosted the day of remembrance with family members of students who passed on during the course of this academic year. The purpose of this ceremony is to remember staff and students the university has lost over the course of the year.  The idea of this commemoration emanates from our understanding that as a university, when we lose one of the CUT family members, we lose part of ourselves in the process. With this ceremony we honour and celebrate their lives contributions each of them has made towards the university.

“We remember Motlalentoa Senyane: NDip Electrical Engineering; Mawande Delani: BED (FET) Specialisation: Economics; Zinhle Sithole: BED (FET) Specialisation: English; Nthabiseng Hloai: NDip Office Management; Zongezile Lutolo: Higher Certificate In Dental Assisting; Leseba Masoeu: NDip Internal Auditing; Thapelo Macheoane: NDip Emergency Medical Services; Lydia Magagula: Postgraduate Certificate in Education; Setshego Matlabe: BED (FET) Specialisation; Lithakong Lenkoe: NDip Quantity Survey; Themba Dladla: NDip Quantity Survey and Ketselisitsoe  Mokoaqo: NDip Radiography. Their imprint in life will never go unnoticed here at CUT” said Prof. Henk de Jager, Acting Vice-Chancellor and Principal during the commemoration service. “As I am talking on behalf of those families, I know the pain of losing a child today. But it is pleasing to realize that CUT has embraced our children as part of the CUT family.  We as parents of these students we are thankful to CUT. We will always remember them and be very proud of them” said Mr Masoeu, father of Leseba, who was studying to obtain his qualification in Internal Auditing.
